lost in the Ehrenbreitstein depot in 1945; […]; The winged altarpiece ‘Feeding the multitude’ (inventory M 1968/67) appeared at a Sotheby's auction in London in 1968. The consignor was represented by the lawyers Leatherwood, Walker, Todd & Mann, Greenville, South Carolina. The exhibit was withdrawn from the auction, the city of Koblenz paid $7,500 (30,000 DM) to Bob Jones University and liquidations from English and Dutch lawyers and thus regained possession of the painting.
