Description

Enamelled Neptune statuette on a vermeil-set, ornamented lapis lazuli pedestal decorated with pearls and rubies.

According to current knowledge, it cannot be ruled out that the statuette is a forgery from the end of 19th century.

Provenance

ca. 1600/ probably late 19th century production.

From 9.12.1919 - at least 12.9.1920 Kunsthandlung M. Salomon, Dresden/ Berlin.

Whereabouts unknown.

Before December 1979 - 1984 Art dealer F.K.A. Huelsmann, Hamburg.

1984 Bequest F.K.A./G.A.E. Huelsmann to the city of Bielefeld.

Since 1995 Location Museum Huelsmann, Bielefeld.
