Description
31 sheets; pencil sketches, occasionally watercoloured, mainly weapons and armour from the Wartburg armour collection; made in 1867 when the armour collection was set up in the Dirnitz of the Wartburg; cover decorated with gold floral and rocaille ornaments

Acquired in February 1938 by the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Weimar as a free transfer from the Thüringische Landesbibliothek Weimar (ThLB) following a previous donation to the ThLB by Aurelie Elli Doepler, Berlin; donated to the Wartburg Foundation in 1938 by Prof. Deetjen, Kunstsammlungen Weimar; identified as cultural property seized as a result of persecution; aggrieved party: Aurelie Elli Doepler
