Description
From the right, a path with two pilgrims and a cripple. In the middle ground, lower down, a church. On the sides flanking groups of trees, in the background a lake and wooded hills. According to type and format, possibly decorative parts, i.e. drawer fronts from an Antwerp cabinet.
Provenance
Until 1944, the panel painting was in the possession of Albert Loewenich (Cologne) in Paris. There it was bought by the art dealer H. W. Lange (Berlin) together with another panel. On 9 August 1944, both objects went from Lange Art Shop to the Landesmuseum.
Research has shown that this object was imported to Germany from Paris after the occupation of France.
