Description

View into the side aisle (?) of a strangely built Gothic church: on the left a very narrow aisle with a clerestory (central nave?). In the foreground on the right a grave has been dug, to which a funeral procession is moving.

Returned to the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg in 1948 at the latest, or temporarily stored at the Marienberg Fortress; since 1966 at the latest, the painting has been returned to the Martin von Wagner Museum in the in the south wing of the Würzburg Residenz.
