Donor: unknown, date of accession: unknown (probably in 1943), accession number: 1943 G 5710. 1876 the "Jugend-Lernverein Chinuch Neorim" was founded and maintained by the Israellitische "Religonsgesellschaft" Karlsruhe. In March 1938 the Jewish community was deprived of its corporate rights. During the November pogroms the synagogue was set on fire on 10.11.1938. After the deportation of most Baden Jews to Gurs (France) on 22.10.1940, Jewish life also ceased. The state exploited the assets and mobile values. For the "Jugend-Lernverein", the loss of the books was clearly a consequence of the Nazi legislation towards the Jewish communities and organisations.
