Description
inscribed at the bottom right: "G M Kraus" - On the outside of the decorative frame (right side leg) label with printed number "314" - On the back of the decorative frame (right side leg) illegible writing and number ("54/35 (... )"), both handwritten in pencil - On the back of the stretcher frame label of the forwarding agency Gustav Knauer, Berlin - According to the notification of the seller, Dr. W. A. Luz, possibly identical with the painting "Bettelknabe" in the Amalienstift Dessau (cf. Thieme-Becker, vol. XXI, 1927, p. 450), but in fact never in possession of the Amalienstiftung. Not identical with the painting "Boy with Hurdy-gurdy", formerly in the possession of the Amalienstiftung, today in the Staatliche Galerie Dessau, location Museum Schloss Mosigkau.
