Inscribed at the bottom left: "Martin de Vos / inuentor / Ioann. Sadler fecit Coloniae 1582". Print mark at lower right: "Cum gratiae et privil. S. C. M.". Caption in the plate: "Maria intrauit in domu Zachariae, & salutauit Elisabeth. Et factum est: vt audivit Salutatione." Without passepartout.
Provenance
in September 1943 by the OFP Hessen in Darmstadt to the Painting Gallery and the Museum of Antiquities of the city of Mainz. There are no indications of the place of seizure and pre-provenance.
