The picture had been acquired by a soldier of the US-army in Europe (probably France or Holland) after 1944 or in the USA. The provenance of this item is unclear but the acquisition is likely to be legal. However it can`t be excluded that the picture had been seized through Nazi-persecution before the acquisition or that it had been relocated through events of war.
