Harbour scene
The painting shows a harbour scene under a cloudy sky. Various people can be seen in the foreground, two merchants in conversation at the left edge of the picture, a man squatting on baggage to their right, seen from behind. At the right edge of the picture, a man with a naked upper body is bending down to pick up a crate. A ruined temple can be seen in the middle ground on the left, with merchants and a couple in bourgeois dress facing each other on the right. Other people, mostly labourers, are depicted on the right. In the background is a sailing ship, with mountains behind it.
The work is neither signed nor dated.
